"CAINTOWN"

was given to the post office
which was opened at
Concession III, Lot 15
(Latitude 44° 32' - Longitude 75° 53')
FRONT OF YONGE TWP., LEEDS CO.

14 miles west of BROCKVILLE

This area had now become a growing community
sandwiched between
Mallorytown,
4 miles south
and
Farmersville,
8 miles north.

By 1856
the Grand Trunk Railway
opened line from Montreal to Toronto
passing through Mallorytown.

By 1877
the Daily Stage went from
Farmersville to Mallorytown
to connect with the train.

By 1888
Farmersville was renamed "Athens."
