John m. Amy Robbins (both of New Bethlehem, Albany Co.) 2 Mar. 1786 by John McDonald V.D.M. (Pastor 1775-1795) First Presbyterian Church - Albany, N.Y.
[*It is presumed that John married Amy Robbins as John's wife was named Amy and they had a son named David Robbins Cain.]
1801, Feb. 29 - John Cain, Yeoman, granted Lot 16, Conc. III (200 acres) in Yonge Twp. - Patent dated 29 Feb. 1804 and issued 13 Mar 1810. -- Archives of Ontario - Township Papers Yonge Twp. RG 1 CIV
1802 - family of 5 male & 4 female children were living in a round log house and by 1805, John had 8 acres cultivated - 2 horses, 2 oxen & 1 cow.
1810, Jan. 17 - John Cain petitioned for a lease of Lot 16, Conc. IV naming John Cain the younger to become his security for the payment of the yearly rent. -- Archives of Ontario - U.C. Land Petitions C.Misc. Leases/50 C1741
1811 - census - John Cain & wife with 6 sons & 6 daughters. [Selah, John, Joseph & William Robbins were early inhabitants in Front of Yonge Twp. - John Robbins resided at Conc. III, Lot 17 (100 acres).]
