John Hogaboom's family immigrated to Yonge Twp., Leeds Co., Johnstown Dist., Upper Canada as well as his brother Derrick.

In 1806, John was assessed on 100 uncultivated acres - with 2 cows.  He lived in a round log house presumably on Lot 15, Conc. III, sharing it with Derrick.

On 1811 census, John & Mary are listed with 2 sons & 6 daughters and by 1814, they had 25 acres cultivated - 2 horses & 3 cows.

John Hogaboom may have died 1824/25.  He is not listed on the 1825 census but Mary Hogaboom, as well as a John Hogaboom (separate as 1 male over 16) is listed.  Mary Hogaboom is not listed on census in Yonge Twp. after this date.

But, on 17 Feb. 1835, as daughter of Isaiah Cain U.E., Mary petitioned in the District of Johnstown (Leeds & Grenville Counties).  Her O.C. (order-in-council) was recommended 11 Nov. 1835 and her date of location was 25 Nov. 1836 at Lot 12, Conc. 15 Orillia Twp., Simcoe Co.  It is doubtful that she actually resided on this property.
