Ca 1805 family immigrated to Yonge Twp., Leeds Co., Johnstown Dist., Upper Canada. Derrick was assessed in 1806 as having 140 acres (9 of which was cultivated) -- with 2 horses, 2 oxen, 3 cows and 2 swine. He lived in a round log house -- by 1812, a frame house.
In 1808, March 31 -- he bought from Isaiah Cain (Jemima's father) part of W1/2 of Lot 15 in Concession III.
By 1814, Derrick owned 200 acres (30 of which were cultivated).
1820 Census - one male, one female, one male child and two female children.
The death dates of Derrick & Jemima Hogaboom are unknown -- Derrick ca 1821/5???
